Do you guys feel like One is thinning himself out by trying to write too many stories at once?
I mean, I love One Punch Man, Mob Psycho and Versus, but I thought the whole point of finishing Mob Psycho 100 prematurely was to focus on a single story. And now we also have Versus as an ongoing series.
To be honest, I don't even think One is being able to keep up with One Punch Man. All the redraws and hiatuses should be a good indication.
If authors cannot dedicate themselves to their stories, why should the readers? Now I'm afraid One Punch Man and Versus will be abandoned at some point, or pushed towards a hurried end like Mob Psycho.
ONE is a creative guy with a lot of ideas he wants to explore. Some people need several projects going at once so that, when they get burnt out on one, they can work on another for a while to let things build back up in their head about it. And speaking from experience, just working on one very massive, long term piece is a fast way to come to loathe every part about it, because it feels like you're trapped. If he wants to write, let him write. I'm happier to see that he still has new stories he wants to tell. He doesn't owe you working on one thing just because it's your personal favorite. These stories are his to tell first and foremost, and he's allowed to do that however feels best for him.
Ho boy...... You asked for opinions, but you were actually hoping for affirmation, and then got upset when you found out no one really agreed with you. You've also been downright derogatory talking to other people, AND you tend to write long responses when someone doesn't see things how you do, but when someone gives you the exact same treatment back it's too much to handle and you insult them before refusing to engage. That's.... That what *little kids* do, my guy.
I think you need to take the advice you so kindly gave someone else, and should consider all this in silence. If you weren't ready to speak to people after asking for them to speak to you, then you probably shouldn't have opened your mouth in the first place.
Actually, edit to add--blocking. I've got no interest in hearing anything else, nothing will be gained. Conversation obviously isn't what you want anyway and I'm not gonna pat you on the head to tell you what a smart little guy you are. Adios

Cocky implies that he's bragging about being able to do it, but he isn't. He's doing it because he'd like to, like any other artist--it's just that people are aware of him and like what he does, so they pay attention to it. From what I've seen from artists, whether it's friends or massively popular celebrities, they'll usually work on at least a few things simultaneously. Neil Gaiman has his toes in minimum three different BIG things at any one time. CLAMP is regarded as some of the most influential creators in manga history despite how many incomplete stories they have. Pretty much every artist I know will have their long-running piece/pieces, and then they'll work on small stuff here and there to decompress from them.
And when it comes to ONE specifically, I think OPM is as strange and good and unexpected as it is BECAUSE he works on it while he's doing other stuff. I always got the hunch that OPM was his playground where he worked through a bunch of different ideas to see what would happen if he pushed them as far as they could go, and then Mob was his baby. Maybe Versus will fill the role now so that OPM can maintain that experimental weirdness that makes it feel like nothing else out there. Not that he doesn't care--ONE puts an ENORMOUS amount of thought and work into his characters and his stories--but I do get the sense that being just a teensy bit less in love with it stops him from being afraid to do really wild, unexpected things with it.
I know that's how I get with stuff that I'm doing. I can't tell you how many times my warm-up or cool-down sketches, or the 3 AM ramblings I jot down between longer stories, ended up in completely unpredictable places I wouldn't have even dreamed of touching if I was working on something that, to me, had much higher stakes.
OPM is EXTREMELY popular, sure--but it's because it somehow manages to subvert expectations despite working with some of the most well-known, heavily explored tropes there are. If he ONLY had OPM to work on, there's a chance that it might be a lot harder for him to see alternate routes to take in the story 'cause he'd be too focused on it. No forest, only trees. Saying it's arrogant and immature for him to make more than one thing, when he's proven he can write great, complex, longform stories that stand the test of time is like...... It feels like going to see Phantom of the Opera on Broadway and saying it's irresponsible to have a chandelier prop like that, and that they should know better.
He's experienced. It's not easy but making stuff is never easy. And not for nothing, he's already made something wonderful--it's not a wasted effort even if it ends up incomplete. You wouldn't say Berserk was bad because it's unfinished, would you? And that was from someone who DID commit themselves mostly to one story.
You gotta just let people create how they want. Just because it doesn't seem feasible to you, doesn't mean that it's wrong or impossible to try. Lots of times those ways ARE the only ones some people can do it.
