Double Attack against Enel?

Was just playing on the sim against Enel and he was at one Life. I gave my leader Double Attack and hit him.
He took the hit, but still had one Life left? Is it supposed to work like that?
From my understanding, as soon as Enel hits 0 life, he triggers and adds a card to his life, and double attack is two separate attacks.
So, shouldn’t the first attack hit and trigger Enel, then the second attack hit, leaving him at 0 life.
