So the livestream announcing the characters just released and I'm going to be honest; the art is great, the characters are not. I'm not sure why in 2024 ; we still have characters boosting 2 classes and a type. I get that they also provide a universal 4.5x buff but just expected more.

With that being said, why am I gushing over the new Roger and exclaiming him as the best when his captain only boosts 5.5x?

Because of all the unbreakable utility that he provides.

As a captain he'll provide a

2.75x unbreakable Color Affinity

2.75x unbreakable Attack boost

2.75x unbreakable Orb boost.

Guaranteed TND orb for Super TND

95% Damage reduction for damage reduction boost/ death hit

All for 2 turns that can be extended with his Captain action, so all buffs last 2nd to last and last stage.

the most important part of that is HE DOESN'T LIMIT SPECIALS AFTERWARDS

Meaning as a Captain/ Friend Captain Roger will be providing ALL of the needed damage for Most all content, Kizuna's included. while almost entire team can be focused on other things

But it doesn't end there, his special also provides Def down for 7 turns , getting rid of the only stat teams that go through defense care about. he removes attack down for 7 turns

As a captain he will also provide Silence resistance and Boost berries and pirate exp by 2.25X.

He's the best Hybrid Captain in the game by a mile and the icing on the cake? He's Dex

You can easily pair him up with G5 ,Nami/ Carina and Robin get rid of 90% of the game's debuffs while also having enough damage to do any form of content.
