We all know that Luffy and shanks will have a grand reunion and it will take up an arc. Everyone thinks shanks will make luffy defeat him physically before letting luffy pass and receive his ponigliff.
Most likely shanks will test luffy not in a fight but in a test of will/ideals. Shanks is likely guarding the one piece for the right person meaning that in the wrong hands it could destroy the world. shanks will test luffies will/ideals to determine if he is the joy boy and the one Rodger is waiting for.
