Man I was thinking about it earlier this weekend when Luffy was going to fight KAIDO the first time, we as readers knew he wasn’t ready to fight him. As readers we KNEW there was no way he could even put a scratch on KAIDO.

But there was not a SINGLE MOMENT where luffy doubted his ability. He never thought he was marching to his death. He knew he was always going to win: even on the way to onigishima , I thought luffy needed more training. But he was sailing knowing by the end of it, he will have KAIDO’s head.

And that’s with every single villian he faced. He never once doubted his skills even if we as readers thought it was impossible. Where your mind and body are so synchronized, you have absolute faith in yourself. I hope we all achieve even a fraction of that belief. It’s beautiful and I work hard everyday to get that belief.
