Disclaimer: This is not meant to emphasize the difference in each collector's disposable income but a discussion on how we budget ourselves in this hobby.
So I totalled the amount spent on Omnibus this month and realized I went overboard. As a result, I'm not buying any new books for the next 2-3 months.
For context, I try to limit myself to 2 omnibus/OHC a month with a monthly budget of AUD 200 - 300 depending on the discounts I can secure. Omnibus in Australia retails for $150-$200 PER omnibus and discounts are very rarely given unless you preorder ahead or order off Amazon (yes I know)
Looking at my collection spreadsheet, I have only 2 omnibus that will be on preorder (Ultimate Spider-man Vol 2 and House of M) so this is a great time for me to catch up on my reading.
I don’t set a budget. Usually I pick up whatever that’s coming out that week I want and 1-2 books that have been out that I want. Usually my weekly orders are 3-6 books.
