Just went to an omega boutique with an under warranty aqua terra. Wanted to send it in for service. The in house tech looked at it and said there was a sheered off screw and they likely wouldn’t cover it because of ‘excessive force’ and noted the wear and tear on the body of my watch. He said they would send it in but would likely be charged 700 (or more if there was more damage) for service. He said that the boutiques send them one service center and all they do is there is get the watch fixed and don’t contact the customer. Just fix it and send it back to the boutiques. He said there was an east coast service send I could send it to myself for the ADs and they would contact me before charging anything and suggested I go that route because it’s not an expensive fix for a normal watch shop.
Is this guy full of it or is this typical for Omega service?
