Guides to water curing olives?

I'm new to liking olives, and honestly not 100% sold on the flavor, but I was looking for an olive I might like and I decided a water cured olive sounds cool. And if I make my own, I'll be forced to appreciate them in a new light.

So are there any guides to water curing olives that are seen as bog standard, can't mess it up, types of basics?
