Yâall wanted to hear the story on this thing so here is what I know on it. The guy I bought from worked at a Union 76 and the station he worked at bought the go kart as a promotional vehicle for advertising some time in the 1990âs. When Union 76 went under he was gifted the go kart from the company for his service. He then got a job at a Oldsmobile dealership in Ohio, he found a magazine where a company made Indy car decals for go karts. He ordered the kit and had the body shop at the dealership paint it in Diamond white. He kept it for a quite a while but was ready to let it go. I work at a car museum and the go kart got donated there and they didnât want it and I knew I finally had a opportunity to own what Iâve always wanted since I was a kid. So I told the director to give me a offer and he said âGive $100 and itâs yoursâ I was honestly speechless when he said that I said âYou got a dealâ and I bought it 2 days later and hauled it home. Sadly the old engine is garbage but I got a new 5hp Honda engine with a torque converter clutch. Itâs going to be a winter project and I hope to have it driving by spring time. The 3rd photo is the real Indy car that the go kart is based off of.
