When online exclusives get returned in store...

Any employees have insight on how long before the store starts heavily discounting the online exlusives returned in store?
I have noticed recently a large quantity of online exlusives marked at 90% off, which is great for me since I wear a very small size so I love finding petite sized clothes in store. I was just curious how often this occurs and how long until these types of mark downs occur so that I can get an idea how often I should go take a gander to see what kind of deals I can scrounge up.
