Inspired by u/ejhUPS post on their new front door... thoughts?
Post Body

I've been inspired by u/ejhUPS post about their beautiful new wood front door!

We have a metal Stanley works windowless front door on our 1930 Cape Cod. It gets sunlight 24/7, no shade whatsoever, and really heats up the entryway in the summer. In the winter, we've discovered... Not so much.

I've been wanting to paint the door a different color, since it's pretty faded, but now I'm wondering if we should try to just replace it with something more period specific and slightly less roasty. I'd love to have windows in the door as well.

What might be the pros/cons of doing that versus repaint?
