Like I mentioned in the title, I'm an 18-year-old girl. I have always had a thing for much older men (in the 45 to 65 range) and don't even really know why exactly. Part of it might be that I've always been very mature for my age and tend to get along much better with people who are older than me. The idea of being in a committed long-term relationship with someone older just feels right and natural to me.
I've tried posting on a few of the age-gap personals subs, and believe it or not, I barely got any messages at all. I even specified that I would be willing to relocate, but that didn't make any difference. (I live in a small town in Oregon, so it's likely that I will need to relocate if I want to find somebody.)
I'm not a gold digger; I'm just a traditional girl who is looking for marriage. I'm a very loving and affectionate person by nature and a strong believer in romantic love, and I just want to find my one-and-only who I can fall deeply in love with and devote myself to forever. Are older men avoiding me because they don't want to be committed to someone who is "barely legal" because then all their friends and family would think they are weird for being in a relationship with someone who just turned 18? Or could it be because they might assume I'm going to be very immature and juvenile and don't want to risk the hassle of getting involved with someone my age?
I find this puzzling, and it makes me kind of sad too. Does anybody have any advice as to what I could do to improve my odds?
