New learner of Old English (for fun, mostly) was wondering about runes
Post Body

Hello!

I'm a new learner, I've been meaning to learn an ancient language for a while, and after deciding I wanted to learn Latin I accidentally came upon Old English and fell in love with it (I think my love for German might've had a bit to do with that) so I postponed Latin (oh well) and got to work on Old English.

I noticed that there was a system of writing that used runes (since some runes gave way to wynn and thorn and whatnot) and since they seemed easy to learn, I've been doing a memrise course to learn them, almost done. Again, for fun.

The question is... I don't know how useful they're going to be (I'm still learning them, again, even if they're "useless", for fun) but I thought I'd ask here... are there any texts available written in runes? Is there a chance I might be able to squeeze some use out of them?

Also, first time redditor... hi!
