Hi everyone,
I have recently been reviewing this subreddit and noticed an alarming amount of scam accounts. I have taken the time to try root out as many of these scammers as possible and noticed a common trend within their behaviour.
First of all, they will immediately begin requesting payments via Cashapp/PayPal. The accounts they provide are foreign accounts usually requesting payment in USD. If you spot this, do not send any money.
Scammers will often send photos too, however try to request a photo in a specific pose (my go to is tongue out, pinky on nose). The photos they send are taken from sites like OnlyFans. If you place them in a situation where they cannot provide a photo they will become defensive and aggressive.
Facetime is an effective way to verify identity, however it is possible to fake the video on facetime. If the other party is unable to hold a conversation over facetime then chances are they are fake.
Please try follow the below actions to properly confirm you are speaking to a real person and not a scammer:
Request a photo of the other person holding a slip of paper with their username, the date and a random word of your choosing.
Request a photo of the other person performing a specific pose, any pose that would be rare to find through a google search haha
Request a conversation over facetime
The most important rule however: DO NOT SEND ANY MONEY UNLESS YOU ARE SURE THEY ARE LEGITIMATE.
Following the above should be enough to ensure you only hookup with real people and arent funding someone who doesnt deserve it.
