I stopped dating a few years ago to get myself back together after a really tough breakup. I've been trying to go back on but now that I'm in my 40s, I feel like the quality of people has gone way down. Maybe I've just changed?
For instance, there are so many married/in-relationship men on OKCupid. I find men that are hiding a wife or girlfriend so often that I now have a disclaimer to not talk to me if you're already in a relationship. Also, I genuinely dislike when a guy's first message to me is "you're hot/I want to do (this sexual thing) to you." You can't just take 30 seconds to find something about me on my profile that interests you and talk to me about that?
I write to people about things I like on their profiles but rarely hear back, which is completely fine. No one HAS to write back. I'm going with the flow here. It just baffles me why everyone seems so scummy nowadays. Maybe I just got old and weird? Maybe these guys just never grew up? I think it's fine to be single, but it would be cool to have someone awesome around.
Thanks for listening! :)
