Here's the itty gritty. Dating apps don't work for me. So I want to make one that isn't shite. And I want to make it free as well, since you shouldn't have to pay to find love. It's 2018 and I can't believe there isn't an app to match you with someone who shares your values, interests, and goals.

Here's my pitch thus far:

Soul Grep

The only dating app to use detailed filtering to find a select few with compatible values and goals.

Other Features:

• Enforced equal number of male and female users. Extras get put in a wait list until more of the opposite gender joins.
• Heavy user quality moderation. Report a bot, asshole, bitch, dickflasher, catfisher, prostitute, ghoster -> their chat gets reviewed by a moderator -> banned.
• Only one match at a time. This app is for finding your soulmate. Once you and someone agree to initiate conversation, you get taken out of the dating pool.
• Only active people allowed in the dating pool. Users must check in at least once everyday to remain in the dating pool. This is to ensure quality, active matches.
• Users need to have a verified Discord account with phone verification in order to use the bot. This prevents bots users and helps reduce ban evaders. (for now)

Our goal is to make this app as free and useful as possible. You shouldn't have to pay to find love.

We are currently closed-sourced in order to stay vigilant against competing for-profit dating services.

Plans

• Release the discord bot prototype.
• Supplemental web application.
• Supplemental mobile apps.

What's the core feature of the app? Everyone starts off with a blank slate. But then you have to keep adding interests/values until you start to have fewer and fewer matches. When you have about 10 compatible matches left, only then can you attempt to initiate conversation with them. This forces everyone to have a detailed profile about themselves, without stupid questions like "what's your favorite animal". Also, it's a great way to find someone who really shares the same values as you do.

Anywayyyss, that's my goal. I have some experience with building discord bots and it's really low cost to host a bot use Discord as user authentification so I'm starting with that. I'd love to hear what you think.
