How does Discover decide who's profile to show you?
Post Body

Since there really isn't anyone to date in my area at all, I just changed my distance to 100 miles. Doing so caused Discover to start exclusively showing me profiles of users between 200 and 300 miles away.

I also can't help but notice that nearly all of the profiles it's showing that aren't obviously fake are obese women, morbidly obese women, and trans-women.

Is it just showing me the closest users who have their distance set high enough that I'm in their range? I find it hard to believe that there are are no non-obese, cis women on OKCupid within 300 miles so that's the only theory I can come up with.
