After my 2006 divorce I used OKCupid and it was fantastic and so much fun. I met a lot of cool people, got laid a bunch and had a couple of short relationships. I kept using it on and off for several years including the first couple of years after the acquisition. It had gone a little down hill but clearly the match assholes have ground it into shit chowder.
I went back on three days ago and as I sit here I have 47 likes. Even by the standards of the old days, like half of them would be some kind of bullshit or just not interesting to me but that's a lot of likes.
When I got the offer for $22 for a month, I figured that it was worth it just for the one month and tried to sign up. Both of my credit cards and my debit card were declined with a big red FRAUD. I came over to this subreddit to see what that issue was only to find that the fraud was okcupid. Thanks to everyone for the heads up from your posts.
Do the major credit card companies decline okcupid because of charge backs or something?
What a shame to lose the old community, quirkiness, fun questions and actual matches.
