Smoother fill ins?
Post Body

What’s up y’all. I apologize in advance that I will probably have a few stupid questions in the next week or so as I ramp up on my Ohuhu usage, but then I should have it down. I have watched a number of videos with tips and tutorials on using these markers, but I keep having trouble filling in my illustrations with a smooth layer of color most times, with the exception being when I layer a color until it stops getting darker.

So I was wondering if anybody has suggestions on how to fill in colors more smoothly. I primarily use brush tips, but have also used chisel tips with similar results. With brush tips, I have tried both short and long brush strokes in a single direction and back and forth, and have also tried doing the back and forth without lifting the marker. It’s definitely possible that I’m not waiting long enough for the ink to dry, but it’s dry to the touch when I go for another layer.

I’ve also tried priming it with a colorless blender before adding another layer, as was recommended on some website.

Is this just something that will improve as I do it more, or am I missing something? Do I need to choose a lighter color than my target color and then layer it until it’s fully saturated? Here’s my latest drawing, where you can see streaks everywhere.

Thanks in advance!
