I am really hoping that someone has an idea of a charity that might help. About a month ago one of my best friend's car broke down completely. My best friend is on disability, but he has been taking care of his parents in especially his dad who needs dialysis treatments. For a while his Dad's sister was taking him but not as often as he needed to and now she can't take him anymore at all. While his dad's treatments are covered, he is unable to get disability for some reason. Without my friend having a vehicle to take his dad to dialysis three times a week its only a matter of time for his dad and he is sliding fast. They have tried to find "assistance" rides but have been told that they would cost over $8000. I have a hard time believing in this day and age there isn't a single agency that can help get them transportation for treatments that are keeping someone alive. I am hoping maybe someone out there knows of an agency or a charity that might be able to help get this man to dialysis to keep him alive. I know my friend will never be able to forgive himself if his dad dies this way. They live in Wood County but have to go to Oregon for treatments. Please if anyone has an idea let me know.
