(Self-report) Sometimes consequences make you realize just how badly you need to change

Post Body

So I've been in a bad mental place for a while, but i refused to get treatment. I ended up becoming verbally aggressive toward my partners. They gave me an ultimatum, and I finally went to get help. I couldn't change enough in time for it to matter, and now they've broken up with me and are kicking me out. I'm gonna be homeless for at least a little while.

Don't be me. Don't refuse help and justify your shitty actions to yourself until you deeply hurt the people around you and lose the best thing in your life. I'll still try to change and become better, even if it's too late for this relationship. I never want to do that to anybody else ever again. But yknow, until then, I get to grapple with the end of the only healthy relationship I ever had.

(Edit: I'm not looking for sympathy or people to feel sorry for me, I just wanted to put this somewhere. I want to warn people to not be like me. I want to encourage others to get help before they ruin their lives the way I have. I want people to see this and know that they can avoid negative consequences if they get help and put in the work early. Thank you to everyone who's commented and encouraged me. It means a lot. I'm in this spot because of how I acted and rationalized my actions. There's no excuse for what I did or for refusing to get help. I want my story to be a warning so that hopefully someone out there can fix their shit before they lose everything important to them)
