Do I need a floor protector/mat if I purchased hardwood floor casters from Steelcase?

As the title says - I have the Steelcase Gesture with the Hardwood Floor Casters.
I'm currently using an acrylic mat floor protector - curious, do I need that? Or are the hardwood floor casters enough to not damage the hardwood floor?
