New ergonomic chair painful
Post Body

Hey all,

After a few years of having a horrible, horrible chair with no support and a broken piston, I decided to splurge on a nice, ergonomic chair.

So today I went to a nearby showroom and got this chair right here

Everything was great at first, bur after sitting for a solid 15 minutes, I noticed the very exterior of my pelvical area was getting sore

So what happens is that the seat is one of those “stretched” fabric type seats, instead of an actual cushion, and my hips are wide enough to the point where I end up partly seating on the area where the fabric meets the plastic of the chair.

Is this something I’ll get used to in time? It is pretty annoying. I could try and exchange it tomorrow for a model such as this one (extra image) which was around the same price point? The downside with this other chair is that the armrests’ height is non-adjustable.

Their return policy stipulates that no used chairs shall be returned but the employee told me that if I return it within a day or two in mint condition they’ll usually take it back.

I guess I have nothing to lose in trying tomorrow and seeing if they’ll accept the return, but perhaps the other chair isn’t as good as this one and I wanted to consult with you guys beforehand.

Thanks for the help!
