This is not a sad post, but sharing my own realizations as an adult and a childless, full-pledged tito.
As they say, Christmas (and probably New Year) is really for children. I think there's some truth to it. Nung bata pa ko, I always look forward sa kung ano ang handa namin, yung mga pa games, at mga regalo na makukuha ko.
Now that I'm all grown up, napagtanto ko na iba din pala yung sense of fulfillment na you can provide these to the kids of next generation. Yung feeling na nakaka proud din sa sarili na you're the one who now puts food to the table and gives the gifts to the kids. Ang saya lang tignan na they liked what I cooked, and also the gifts I gave to them. All while sitting in one corner, drinking beer, and just watching them have a good time.
Ganito siguro din yung pakiramdam ng adults ng previous generation. Haha!
