Just to be clear, the reason I don't want him to win is not because he isn't credible. Heck, I think he is one of the most credible people in our province pero I still don't want him to win.

But before I can tell you the whole reason, I must first tell you what he's like.

He is a very smart guy. He studies in one of those high end schools kaso alam ko hindi pa siya tapos dahil sa monetary reasons. Maganda naman ang bahay nila kaso their current financial situation is not the best (although alam ko they are surviving perfectly.) His family is active in church. Father niya is one of those helpers na nakikita lagi sa harapan kapag may mass. They are known to sponsor before multiple masses. My friend is also a leader of a youth religious group and actively hold programs and jambories para sa group nila. Kung talino lang din ay alam kong matalino rin siya.

Before election, we would talk about politics and how fucked up our government currently is. Napag-usapan rin namin yung isang common friend namin who was planning to run as SK pero hindi natuloy due to some personal reasons. We both know na talagang politika lang yun at hindi for public service. Based on our convo, wala siyang naibigay na sign na tatakbo siya as SK.

Kaso after a week, nagulat na lang ako kasi he started sharing accomplishments of a certain potential SK kagawad on fb. Medyo nagtaka ako kasi alam ko he isn't politically inclined to anything. It was very out of character for him lalo pa't almost everyday niya tong ginagawa.

We regularly meet every Saturday kapag nagsisimba, pero after that phase halos hindi na siya nagsisimba. We still chat regularly kaso parang nag-iba talaga. Hanggang sa nakita ko na lang na he was doing outreach programs na with other SK running mates even before the campaign period.

And now, medyo kakaiba lang ang feeling seeing one of your closest friend's face in posters spammed repeatedly in the streets.

Naalala ko before nung last kaming nagkausap regarding sa friend namin na potentially tatakbong SK. We both agreed that public service can be done without any position sa government. If public service talaga ang sa puso mo, then you can do it just by being an ordinary civillian.

Kaso eto ngayon, parang the irony lang.

I am voting for my friend coz I know that he has pure intentions. Ayaw ko lang siyang manalo coz I know politics can corrupt even the purest soul.
