So this happened today. I did a screw-up in work. I am in IT support where I handle tickets for several clients. I have client A in which I was able to login using an account [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected]) (since most of my co-workers had the same format as their email) which worked since it was under the (login via microsoft in which I used a microsoft authenticator) but I never expected it was the wrong account that I was been using until now. All I know is that the account worked and everything in the ticketing system works, and I was able to access everything.
One day at around Sept. I cleared all my cookies and saved passwords in my browser and with that I forgot what email I was using my for-client A. I was wondering for a while until I asked helped from my colleagues and the Service Desk people who handle the accounts. They told me the account I should be using is [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected]) which surprised me. I checked my old emails and saw that was the account that was given to me. So I also checked old messages for any password and found one and when I try to login then it worked.
I was able to use [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected]) for my work. Now, I noticed I wasn't able to open some files and links when I use my account which I found strange but reported it to my senior after 2 months when it became a big deal. My senior (call him Kuya B) has sent a link on a new process which we can open in the ticketing system but I was unable to access it which is weird since I should be able to access it. Kuya B then asked me what's happening in which I stated what happened.
Kuya proceeded to mention that mapepenalize kami due to this mistake since I have been working on the first email address for several months now. A security breach has already been reported and I will be explaining what happened to the managers.
Kinda sad to feel I screwed up at work because of this and I feel ignorant because of it. I understand it was wrong but business case wise it's bad.
Just getting off my chest
