Thoughts on ventless propane heaters as your primary heat source
Post Body

Hello!

Having a drawn out argument with my dad lol.

My dad only uses ventless propane heaters for heat all winter. I known that’s not really recommend but a lot of people do it so I am told. I did some research and while risks may be minimal it still doesn’t seem like something I want to do. He thinks I’m overreacting. I don’t think we’re going to get carbon monoxide poisoning or anything but why add a bunch of C02 and other stuff to the air when you don’t have to.

Whenever I turn on the built in space heaters he turns them off and says it costs too much money (I pay the bill but whatever...). He just uses the ventless because it’s the cheapest.

We have to replace two window AC units anyway so I’m looking into mini-splits. Someone give me some encouraging words to help convince him or tell me I’m wrong and it’s fine to use ventless heaters all day.
