I’m wondering when people chose to go off grid? At what stage of life? With how many people involved?
i’ve been planning our off grid set up for quite some time. From the beginnings of an idea earlier in life, then purchasing land, through to building a tiny house which is at the fitout stage. But kids and adult life has slowed everything down and I feel like I’m bogged down with the shit that I am trying to escape. Our kids are still school aged, so there’s a few more years to go.
I guess I’m ready personally to jump out of this and into that. If I were single it would have happened a long time ago. Part time or casual work to drip feed in a little money. Cut wood and walk in the wilderness. Climb mountains and ride my bike as far as my legs will take me. Return to the tiny house and do nothing. But I can’t.
