I've already messaged my work and am waiting for a response but does anyone know if grants for businesses are exempted as business assets? Or does it count as income for the business? I'm wondering and can't wait for my worker to respond tomorrow (he's a good worker who is newer and tries his hardest to get things done for his clients as he has worked as an advocate for disability rights before becoming an odsp case manager). Has anyone here had any experience being self employed and getting the start up and all that for a business? Any help or convo is greatly appreciated.
For anyone wondering, I'm starting a photography business and the ESUB is not enough to practically get a decent camera for the photography field so I would like to contribute to the Ontario Small Business start up, expansion and buy out grant which allows up to $5000 for small businesses to get started but requires a 25% contribution in order to access the grant. It would be great if I can invest my ESUB into this grant as I would be able to get a good camera and maybe a decent tripod and/or lighting/green screen for portraits.
