so i got mine today. and turns out my brand new razer blade 15 has no displayport or mini ... i’ll put a link to the exact laptop. but anyway after that i was kinda tripping but figured after a brief google that i needed a adapter or so i thought. went to best buy and bought some 90$ usb type c port-hub that had one mini display port. then i came back ran the oculus setup program and viola not detecting my f****n DP cable. well more precise it’ll read for about five secs but before i can get to the next part of the setup where it does the sensor test it’ll say “no DP cord try again or skip setup”. i’m just soooo mad if there’s nothing to do in this is it really if my pc doesn’t have the port basically means try and sell the headset orrrr ? there’s nothing to be done? am i dumb and missing a driver or whatever. anyway sorry for the essay but i got a brand new car headset (be i have never even seen besides in youtube vids) and now i’m on my own and just saved up for it after buying the laptop. all me. and it’s sitting here useless FROM A PORT it’s killing me. really appreciate anyone who took the time and if you even have a guess it would be much appreciated.

as i said there’s the exact laptop that i’m using. if it could help someone point me in the general direction of what to even TRY to do. i really shouldn’t have just gotten all giddy once i had a laptop that could run VR stuff and immediately buy a rift just assuming that id just be able to plug it in. 😓😭😭
