Question about standers

Post Body

Home-health LPN here I have a question. So a kiddo I take care of ( will be referred to as PK) is in a home with another kiddo (will be referred to as OK) They both have CP. OK has a stander, PK is supposed to have a stander but it’s not with them in this home.

About two days ago the primary caregiver (I’ll refer to them as PC) decided to place PK in OK’s stander and then moved it into standing position. PK about lost it. They began screaming crying and pulling at their face (now to note here PK does have behavioral issues in the sense that they will scream and cry anytime PK doesn’t want to participate in something) I could tell that PK was not tolerating it at all that it wasn’t just behavioral. The PC said it was just behavioral and preceded to move the stander into the seated position to the lying position and back to the standing position a few more times. The entire time the PC did this PK was screaming and crying. Once PC was done I removed PK from the stander and I walked with them against my chest to try and soothe PK because it will usually work. PK wasn’t calming down I placed them in their bed and PK continued to cry and whimper.

I had to leave to pick up something for PC and when I got back PK was still in bed whimpering and anytime I would move or adjust PK legs they would scream/cry and grab ahold of my hair and pull. PK doesn’t walk they move around by scooting on their butt but will put weight on their legs when pulling up pants and will raise their butt up for diaper changes and dressing. I preceded to administer their PRN Tylenol. When I left PK still didn’t want anyone touching their legs or moving them.

I didn’t work yesterday but came in today and PK is still not using their legs, moving them around or anything. Anytime I move PK they still cry out and pull on my hair or their face. They did not scoot around or anything they usually do yesterday and still are not doing what they normally do today.

I am unsure what to do because I can’t just take them to the doctor or anything. I have to follow PC instructions.
