obsidian looks like something I have been looking for.. I'm new to this "second brain", commonplace thing but I'm wondering if anyone can recommend whether I should commit to learning this and evolving with it or whether i should find a different system
This is really just a note taking/ journal app for me.
I'm a diesel technician by trade and have loads of information I like to keep and sift through
I like to dabble in programming - so more information
I like reading random things - more information
I have a roommate and we have some absolutely golden conversations and I would love a place to store some of that commentary
I'm big into adventure and outdoors.. I would like a place to record my thoughts and experiences
etc. etc.
but what I am stuck between is how do i make this portable if I am not near a computer, or my computer - or my work computer?
Do I record information through the day and then dedicate some time to enter it all in? do I pay for the subscription and hope that the service never folds?
In the past I have used my voice recorder, a paper journal, a separate email account but everything gets lost - sidenote - I HATE typing on on iphone .. my retarded fingers create jumbled up messes
this seems excellent but it seems only if I carry around my personal laptop everywhere and bring it out on the spot
