District books were presented at the last Cross District meeting, which will serve a rather important mission if Lord Nisovin chooses to accept it...
The idea is rather simple. Each district agreed to write a book introducing new peasants to the ways of your district. General information such as location, the block palette, and what kind of atmosphere it has should be included. A small explanation of the district's government style could also be added.
As I see it, the book should have a general rundown and not be too wordy, since most people don't want to sit there and read through a 20 page book and have to move on to the next one.
An outline of the book could include:
- Introduction: The visuals of the district, why someone would like to come look at it.
- Atmosphere: How it feels to live in your district, the general opinion of the community members whether they're friendly and welcoming. Maybe include some information about a few quirks the people of your district may be identified by.
- Plots: A description of the plot sizes including a list of the district's building materials.
- Government: A summary of what kind of council the district has and a short explanation of how to become involved in it.
- Summary Page: A general comment that you didn't include before or a message to the new player.
Additional comments or suggestions are welcome.
In fact, we would love for your opinions both here and in game. If you don't like this and wish to write your own format, or submit ideas, write it down in a book and put it into the Oak's Grove guild plot mailbox.
The guild plot is located at x: 249 z: 1047.
TIP: The guild plot is closer to the market so start walking from there.
