Corner of international and 37th, in the fruitvale. An old burger joint with a parking lot, and a tent hung along the edge of the building with tables to eat in. Zero internet presence, none, no marketing or advertising, entirely word of mouth. I never have been able to figure out exactly what their hours are, but it seems they close in the early evening. I learned about the place from reading an article about a player for the Golden State Warriors, who took the reporter there for lunch. If you go, you going for the food, not the ambiance or the buzz.
Very good Mexican standards, especially street tacos. Tasty meats.
But go there for their ceviche, cocteles, and aguachile. I go probably once a month for the shrimp and octopus coctele, or the aguachile if I'm feeling like heat and spice. Fresh sweet octopus, a lot of fresh sweet shrimp, wonderfully tasty broth. Served with saltines and fried tortillas, for soaking up the juice.
Always lots of Latino working men, and Latino families in the place. Friendly happy feel, music on the patio. I've taken friends several times, and they love the place. Give it a try.
