Hello beautiful people. I have just signed a lease for June 15th move in, in a new city. Optimum is the best option available to me for high-speed internet. I have browsed around the subreddit here and like the idea of purchasing my own equipment to avoid monthly "rental" fees. The internet is most important for me to get right, as I made a promise to my 13 yr. old son that, since I am moving him away from his friends, I would do my best to provide him with fast enough internet to play online with them. I am hoping someone will be charitable or bored enough to build a list of what I should purchase to give my new home the optimal fast coverage. I would really appreciate it and want to use the coming weeks before move-in to start buying equipment. Here is the info relating to my home and service available:

Home 3 bedroom duplex, 1,340 sq ft.

Service Optimum cable internet 1 gig Optimum gateway 6 with built-in router (unless y'all specify something better)

If any more info is needed, please let me know. I will appreciate any help, want to make sure my kid has what he needs. (Will of course hardwire to his devices...that is the only trick I know of)
