FX changing when resampling

I was trying to resample some drums to a new track with some reverb on them, and then compression, but when I listen back to the resampled track, the effect is much more intense than when I just have the master effect on. Both Punch and Spring do this, but I haven't tried any others. I also tried lowering my recording volume, but it's still much more harsh.
