So with 23 Iโm noticing this weird phenomenon of my first round draft picks developing crazy fast into 5 star players, racing though the minors, and getting promoted to the majors by 20. In their rookie season they put up like 6 WAR, but the following season their WAR is in the negatives and my scout reassess them to 2 stars. I then demote them to the minors hoping they will bounce back but they stay at 2 stars and put up sub 1 WAR at like A level. This has happened to a LF, who was selected as an all-star his first year, a SP who won a cy young his first year, a RP who was selected as an all-star and a SS. Four players putting up all-star caliber numbers their first year then falling off the face of the earth. Whatโs going on, and how do I avoid picking prospects that are only good for a single season?
