2021 Minor League reassignment in historical leagues

I'm currently playing a historical game on OOTP 24 and coming up on 2020 and the condensing/realignment of the minor leagues. Does anyone know how the computer will handle players on the rosters of the teams and leagues that get contracted? Are there suddenly going to be hundreds of legit prospects that are free agents? Or will they be automatically reassigned to another affiliate of the correct major league team?
