I couldn’t stand Haley in Season 1 Episode 1

Post Body

When I first started watching OTH, I don’t know why but I couldn’t stand Haley. She was like too chipper for me and the writers made her act like she secretly crushed on Lucas, which I didn’t like because I wanted to see him and Peyton together. I honestly spoiled the show for myself because I wanted to see if she left the show, only to find out she married Nathan, and I felt so confused lol. But every episode after that she became better, I don’t know if the writers decided to take a different direction in her characters personality or if the actress decided to change things up in her style, but Haley is one of my favorite characters, except in the first episode ever. Did anyone else notice how differently she was in the first episode compared to later episodes?

I think they wanted to put some Laley in there

But then they saw that the chemistry was too brother sister so they let it go

But first episode was definitely Haley giving “Joey loves Dawson” vibes

When she gave him the book and said “not that I have some secret Joey loves Dawson feelings or anything”

I was like “thou doth protest too much”

That’s probably why she wasn’t vibing with Peyton at first because she knew Lucas had a huge crush

But then she met Nathan and her crush dwindled away

Why did she dislike Peyton at first?

Oh maybe I’m confusing Peyton with Brooke
