Hi everyone, so I’ve thoroughly perused the forum looking at success stories etc, so it’s nice to know it’s possible without a tech background.
A little about me:
I have my bachelors in kinesiology (2016) and a masters in exercise science (2021). I’ve been working as a strength coach/sports scientist for a while, and through that got into coding. I started with python, and have most recently been working on SQL (which I absolutely LOVE).
Statistics is a bit of a hobby of mine, but I’m certainly no statistician.
I’ve looked into GT’s OMSA, but the math requirements look a bit much especially for me since I only took up to college algebra (and graduate stats, so no calc, linear algebra etc).
Im loving learning about computers, how they work, and particularly how databases work and how to organize them (hence why I’m digging SQL).
Would a program like this be fitting if I was considering a career transition?
If so, the website states 3 edx courses on python, Java and data structures/algorithms. Obviously these seem like a good start, but what else should I consider to prepare?
Or would a bachelor’s in computer science be more beneficial given my background?
