I thought the differences were minimal to unnoticeable for dark/dim rooms, I thought you would only notice significant differences between the 2 in bright rooms so the AI might be wrong on this.
Not buying a S90D 55" that has a Glossy Screen since it has lower peak brightness than the S95D. I will be comparing these TV's side by side with the main PC games I play on duplicate monitor mode against my 55" Hisense U8K. If the Samsung S95D is worse, equal or only minor improvement in picture quality/colors/perceived brightness then I will return it (of course this would vary depending on the game and where you are in the game).
This is what Google AI claims.
AI OverviewLearn moreFor viewing in a dark room, a glossy screen is generally considered better than a matte screen as it will produce deeper blacks and more vibrant colors due to less light diffusion, making the image appear more "pop" in low-light conditions; however, be aware that glare from ambient light can be a significant issue with a glossy screen if not positioned properly. Key points to consider:
Glossy Pros:
- Superior color vibrancy and contrast in dark environments
- Can appear sharper with finer details

Glossy Cons:

Matte Cons:
