Hello!
I've read some reviews on rtings.com for 1440p 144hz monitors and it looks like the OLED variants have much higher refresh rates, 240hz, I've even seen 480hz on some.
Do I understand correctly in that my frames per second should match the refresh rate of the monitor? I'm coming from 1080p only running 120hz but I think I've been messing up here as well and should have been running a higher refresh rate. Anyway, with my current gaming specs I don't get anywhere near 480fps, or even 240hz. I mainly play Fortnite, Black Ops 6 and Space Marine 2. In Space Marine 2 for example, everything is maxed out and I'm averaging 120fps but it will dip closer to 100 depending on what is happening on screen. I'll have to confirm my fps in BO6 and Fortnite though.
I have a beefy machine, running an AMD 7950x, Gigabyte GeForce RTX 4090 Gaming OC 24G and 32GB of Corsair Vengeance DDR5 memory but I don't believe I'll be able to achieve those 240 fps.
What would be an ideal OLED gaming monitor to go with my specs?
Happy to answer more questions!
