LG OLED C2 42" flickering on Linux with VRR

I'm using the panel in question on arch Linux,with a 7900xt and the panel constantly drops to 40hz and back to 119 leading to intense flickering that I've not found any information on how to resolve,I'm using the latest mess drivers if that helps and on wayland with automatic sync on,TV software is up to date,this did not happen a year ago when I first started playing with the LG panel and the 7900xt so I assume it's a software update introduced bug,anyone have any idea on how to resolve this? Cable is also 4k 120 48gbps certified since it's the cable that came with the PS5 that I'm using so it's not that either
