than a knife sinking,
swimming in the pools of war
- the tower of joy comes swift
and the sand, dancing around your feet,
is safe and warm and cool
against a thousand suns.
Nothing is sweeter
than the kiss of the ocean
bringing memories ashore
- the sky is yours, the earth shifts, and the air sleeps
against the shimmer of their eyes
and you breathe, and everything comes sweeter.
