My friend is housesitting and my partner has OCD

My partner and I are going away for a couple weeks and we’re having a friend of mine house/pet sit. i’m starting to feel stressed because my partner is incredibly meticulous about a select few things in our apartment, most importantly, the plants. Our trip is 3 weeks away and he’s already planning out how he wants to communicate exactly how / when each plant needs to be watered. i’m worried that the severity in which he takes the plants might stress my friend who is house sitting out. I don’t want her to feel anxious while doing us this big favor and that if something were to happen to a plant that my partner would completely lose it.

I guess i’m looking for a little help with navigating this situation & communicating to my partner that his intensity could throw people off.

I think this situation evokes a larger problem in our relationship with his ocd tendencies and my lack of understanding and patience. He has no issues with the way he functions and he doesn’t think it causes him stress & anxiety, and therefore doesn’t seek therapy or help. it’s great that it doesn’t bother him, but i get frustrated because i want him to understand the impact it can have on others, including myself…
