I was convinced I had HIV, took a negative test, now I’m convinced I have cancer

Post Body

I live in a country with high prevalence of HIV. I had an oral exposition more than a month ago and around 2 weeks after that I started with weird symptoms. Was diagnosed with bacterial pneumonia. I was cured but I’m still dealing with weird symptoms like feeling feverish, chills, lack of appetite and nausea, abdominal pain, diarrhea, weight loss, menstrual cycle changes (late period and decreased menstrual flow), sputum, feeling generally tired, severe body and joint aches. Yesterday I went spiraling into the idea I had HIV from that contact. I cried, called my friends, I was so paralyzed out of fear I couldn’t eat, drink or go to the hospital to get tested. One of my friends managed to visit me and bring me a test, so I got it done and it was negative. Now I’m not done with my paranoia because I still think I have something like cancer and I’m only going to find out about it when it’s too late. I haven’t been eating and drinking in the last few days, I stopped doing things that bring me happiness and pleasure and I can only stay in bed. Sleeping is the only thing that helps me.
