to start, i am not formally diagnosed with ocd yet as that would require a number of sessions, but the psychiatrist told me i had obsessive compulsive tendencies. i was able to get medication and i want to focus on healing— slowly. with that, i want to ask, how do you guys deal with the feeling that you’re “blaming” your intrusive thoughts to psychology and its theories and that you’re not taking accountability over them? my intrusive thoughts sometimes feel like they’re done on purpose/intentional and every time i reassure myself that i didn’t enjoy the thought, i feel like i’m escaping accountability.
