What techniques have worked for you to stop the obsessive thoughts?

I have terrible rabies/bat OCD. If I find a small cut on me my brain goes straight to bat bites. If something drops on me while I’m outside at night my brain goes straight to bay saliva. I cannot live like this. It’s torture. Any tips on how to supress these thoughts? Should I just keep exposing myself so I can eventually get over this? I seriously was just vacuuming out a heater vent and got cut (likely on the metal of the ductwork) but my brain is scaring me that a bat was in the vent. This is so ridiculous. I just need some advice on how to get over this!
