Just curious, do any of you agency nurses and travel nurses have mortgages and how do you manage ?
Post Body

Hey everyone,

Every now and again I talk about wanting to do travel nursing on this sub for the money and I'm still on the fence because I have a mortgage and the idea of getting into contract work with no guaranteed work and potential lack of job security seems a bit daunting.

I also sometimes hear that contracts are drying up and the market is way oversaturated with too many travel nurses. To add to my worries I'm also a theatre nurse, I know contracts for theatre nurses do exist but nowhere near as contracts for ED, ward nurses and other all rounder areas. It almost makes me want to re-specialise so I can get better job security and become a more versatile all rounder rather than being so hyper specialised.

Just curious if any travel nurses lurking here have a mortgage and any issues with job security on the road and you all manage your finances ?

Thanks heaps for your input.
