What do you do when your the supervisor?
Post Body

I am the LPN supervisor for my region I have two medical residential homes both are not adequately staffed as is. My DON is over region one and I’m over region two. She is out with Covid and my boyfriend just tested positive for Covid. We had one client with Covid in one of my homes. I only have two full time day shift nurses and two full time night shift nurses for this home. I have a PRN nurse but she can usually only cover one or two days a pay period. I have one night nurse out again for personal reasons which made me work a full 24hr shift Sunday. My other night nurse went and got tested today and she’s on schedule for Wednesday Thursday and Friday night. I don’t believe I have Covid. I’m not showing and s/s and I have been social distancing from my boyfriend. I am just run down and tired. If I end up sick I have no one to cover shifts. If either of my day nurses get stuck like I did they will have a come apart and probably quit. My one night nurse that’s been out has been so flakey that I know if she gets stuck she’s gone. The only nurse that won’t have a complete meltdown is the one who just went and got tested. I am so tired I don’t know what to do. My DON is the only one I truly feel like appreciates me and she’s terrified I’ll leave or work myself to death and I don’t want to cause her any issues. She already works so much in office and covering open shifts in her houses in her region. And I know for a fact that the nurses at my other house that’s only has to have a nurse in the house 12hrs a day will not come pick up extra shifts in my 24hr house. I’m sorry for the confusing post I just need to vent.
